What were you doing last night?
I was watching TV.

Make up a story about Conan’s hamburger being stolen and we must find out who stole it. Repeat the example TL from the worksheet.
Every student gets a worksheet and ONE of the character cards with a sentence on it. The students must walk around the classroom and ask the TL question. The other student answers what’s on their card. The answer is written down on the first student’s worksheet.
Tell the student

It’s good to demo the game with a student using the example already written on the sheet. Make a point of:s that they cannot show their card to another student. They MUST speak English!

“I was watching a movie with my friends”
changes to a written version of:
“Kana was watching a movie with HER friends”
After everyone is finished, check all the questions and answers and find out who was lying.

The question was `What were you doing last night`? Nobody eats lunch during night time.

Yeah. That’s entirely true, although some teachers are so busy that eating lunch at night isn’t an impossibility. Lol

I would suggest replacing everything on this worksheet with newer relevant celebrities. The concept is still good, but the worksheet is very dated. I’m sure you can think of more interesting things they all did. I was never satisfied with it.

Anyway, back to my midnight lunch 😉

    so who is the thief??

The person who doesnt match up with anyone else is Sho Sakurai. He says he was playing with Ichiro but Ichiro says otherwise.
What a cheeky, chappy. Please feel free to alter their statements if you think it’s too hard for them.
